Audrey Trussell joined the Division of Community Engagement in April 2013. As the assistant to the vice provost, she delivers project management, strategic planning and implementation support to advance key community-engaged institutional initiatives. In her role she fosters communications to strengthen the DCE's role in disseminating, dicussing and supporting community-engaged scholarship and activities at VCU. She is the voice behind the DCE's social media accounts including @VCUCommunity (Twitter) and VCU Division of Community Engagement (Facebook) and manages development and maintenance of the DCE's website. She also serves as a member of the VCU Communicator's Network and the Social Media Admin Group.
Prior to joining VCU and the Division of Community Engagement, Trussell served as the assistant to Virginia’s Executive Mansion. She supported planning of the Year of the Virginia Historic Home and the bicentennial celebrations of the United States of America’s oldest continually occupied executive residence, as well as over 200 events for the governor and first lady of Virginia. Trussell also administered communications on behalf of the Executive Mansion and First Lady, including press releases, newsletters and social media management.
