Grants and Gifts Committee
Chair: Tracey Gendron
The Grants and Gifts Committee identifies and administers funds to encourage university engagement with community-identified needs. The committee develops and oversees a mini-grant program, with a fund of up to $100,000 to support university initiatives with community partners to address critical needs.
Awards and Recognition Committee
Co-chairs: Christina Lindholm and Logan Vetrovec
The Awards and Recognition committee helps bring attention to the community engagement activities of VCU faculty, staff and students. The committee oversees the nomination, selection and celebration process for the annual Currents of Change awards for outstanding university-community partnerships in the categories of teaching, research, outreach and student-initiated.
Community Connections Committee
Co-chairs: Heather Nunes and Erin Stanforth
The Community Connections Committee creates the bridge between the CCE and the community. The committee oversees service opportunities for VCU employees and promotes community service leave. This committee also establishes linkages between other community advisory groups linked to university entities to ensure coordination and reduce duplication and burden on the community partners.
Community-Engaged Research (CEnR) Committee
Co-chairs: Valerie Holton and Alex Krist
The Community-Engaged Research (CEnR) Committee supports and catalyzes high quality CEnR across VCU. VCU defines CEnR as a collaborative process between the researcher and community partner that creates and disseminates knowledge and creative expression with the goal of contributing to the discipline and strengthening the well-being of the community. CEnR identifies the assets of all stakeholders and incorporates them in the design and conduct of the different phases of the research process.
