The Community Engagement Institute provides faculty members, community partners and graduate students the opportunity to build a basic understanding of community engagement through Service-Learning and Community-Engaged Research learning and networking opportunities.
Service-Learning Workshop
Each year, the VCU Service-Learning Workshop provides experienced service-learning instructors with the opportunity to improve their knowledge and skill in teaching high-quality service-learning courses.
Service-Learning Faculty Mentoring Program
The VCU Service-Learning Faculty Mentoring Program provides guidance and support to faculty members who have completed the VCU Service-Learning Institute and are developing or teaching new Service-Learning courses.
Service-Learning Faculty Fellows Program
The mentoring program cultivates faculty leadership for the civic engagement aspect of the university mission by increasing understanding of current service-learning research literature.
Faculty Learning Community
The Division of Community Engagement Community-Engaged Research Office offers a Faculty Learning Community (FLC) grounded in a community-engaged approach to research, a valuable framework that enables researchers to produce results that can be directly translated to improved outcomes.
