Jennifer Early to Serve as Interim Director of Community-Engaged Research
Jennifer Early, a doctoral candidate in VCU's Health Service and Organization Research program, has been named the interim director of community-engaged research (CEnR) for the DCE Office of Community-Engaged Research. Early will provide leadership and support to advance CEnR as part of the university's strategic effort to align university-wide community engagement and impact. Early previously worked for the division as the CEnR strategic project manager & research associate.
"We are so fortunate to have Jennifer continue as part of our CEnR team in this capacity," said Catherine Howard, vice provost for community engagement. "Her unique background and experience in community healthcare and community engagement make her an ideal leader to support university-community partnerships to enhance scholarly activities."
Having worked in community health over the past decade, Early is interested in advancing the role of academic health centers as they interact with their surrounding communities to impact population health. She also has research interests in how organizational structure impacts individual and organizational performance.
