Community-Engaged Data Dissemination of Research Findings

Download the RFP PDF

The Division of Community Engagement in the Office of the Provost is seeking proposals from faculty to support innovative and community-focused approaches to research data dissemination. Researchers are encouraged to consider community-engaged, community-based data dissemination as a key component of their research.

The primary goals of this RFP are:

1. Innovative Dissemination: To encourage researchers to use unconventional, creative, and even entertaining methods of sharing research findings, ensuring the information is not only understood but also inspires future collaboration.

2. Bi-Directional Learning: To foster dialogue between researchers and communities, allowing for feedback, discussion, and the co-creation of ideas and opportunities for future work.

We are interested in supporting full-time faculty and research staff who have recently completed a research project with known findings but may lack the funding to focus on community-based and community-engaged dissemination.

Successful applicants will receive up to $5,000 in funding to support the development and implementation of a creative, community-informed data dissemination event or initiative.

These funds can be used for:

  • Collaborating with local artists or performers
  • Engaging community members, students, or other participants
  • Supplies, materials, and venue costs associated with the event
  • Any other reasonable costs to support the project’s development and implementation

Deadline

The proposal application deadline is January 15, 2025

Please submit your application via email to dcegrantsinfo@vcu.edu. For any questions, feel free to reach out to Lorielle Bouldin at bouldinln@vcu.edu.
